On Monday, October 4, the RedSky team kicked off a fast-paced demo tour with a 1500-gpm custom pumper from CustomFIRE. The tour will cover most of Arizona and parts of Nevada.
"This is a configuration that we think many departments in RedSky territory will find really attractive because of the exclusive MetroFlex cab extension that provides tons of interior cab room, the SmartSpace™ packaging, and premium stainless steel construction," said Jim Featherstone, president of RedSky Fire Apparatus.
This engine was designed and built for the Davenport Fire Department (Iowa), which has been serving the city for more than 123 years. It features a Spartan MetroStar chassis with CustomFire's MetroFlex cab extension, Cummins ISL 425 hp engine, Waterous CSUC20 1500 gpm midship pump and front suction and preconnect. It offers lots of storage including full-depth driver's side compartments and through-the-body ladder and hard suction hose storage.
